Business Recycling Collections
With environmental concerns high on the agenda, not to mention the financial implications of landfill taxes, it is important to work with a waste management partner that can offer joined-up recycling services for all of the different waste streams your business generates.
If you are keen to work towards 100% diversion from landfill then Gaskells are the waste management provider who can help you achieve this.
Gaskells have invested over £3 million in its state of the art, automated Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) which currently processes over 70,000 tonnes of waste materials each year.
Our facility not only reprocesses the waste we collect from our own commercial clients but also accepts waste material from other waste management companies in the area – which means no matter who empties your bins, there is a good chance your waste is processed by Gaskells.
By using Gaskells as your waste management provider, you can ensure that 100% of your waste is reprocessing at our MRF, whereby we segregate it and recover as much recyclable material as possible.
For biodegradable waste, our food waste partner uses anaerobic digestion technology which releases the energy trapped within biological matter, and this process allows food waste to be turned into biogas for use as fuel.
Similarly for non-biodegradable waste that cannot be recycled is used as a fuel in Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities.

Over 5000 Satisfied Customers
Recycling has more than just environmental benefits for businesses, as it can also help you to cut down on any landfill taxes you have to pay.
As part of an overall employee engagement initiative, it can help to encourage more efficient behaviours like printing in draft quality or using both sides of the paper, cutting your operating costs directly too.
What should you be recycling as a business?
The short answer is: everything you can. If there is an easily available recycling service for any of your common materials, make the most of it.
Different sizes of recycling bins and skips mean there’s no excuse for not recycling even small quantities of valuable material to reduce the amount of landfill waste you generate.
How often is recycling collected?
Standard collections can be daily, weekly or fortnightly, depending on how often you need your recyclable waste removing from your premises.
Remember too that there are different sized recyclable waste containers available to choose from, so we can make sure you have the capacity you need in between your collection days.
How much is wasted each year from businesses?
Defra figures show that commercial and industrial waste in the UK has been over 30 million tonnes in each year since 2011 – and is not dropping significantly over time.
But you don’t have to generate a lot of waste to recycle it. All businesses have a duty of care to dispose of waste responsibly. Recycling even small quantities is all part of meeting this obligation.
