Gaskells are proud to announce we are working with the northwest’s newest multi-million pound adventure park, BeWILDerwood, in Cheshire. Based on the magical Boggle and BeWILDerwood stories from Tom Blofeld, it’s a huge 70 acre site of beautiful woodland, which is home to treetop walkways, treehouses, huge slides, extra-long zip lines and a number of mazes, creating a full day out for the whole family, where you really can run wild!
It opened to the public for the first time on the 12th of April this year, after lockdown restrictions were eased, and we’ve been for a site visit to check all is well with our waste management services there, as well as for a tour. What can we say? From the moment you drive in and see the BeWILDerwood sign, it’s truly magical, quirky and charming. When you get into the woodland, which revolves around the BeWILDerwood characters which live in the trees and the marshy marshes, it’s like you’ve stepped into an enchanted forest. Everywhere you look there’s something to see…. we’d never seen Boggle and Twiggle houses before, and certainly never met a Crocklebog, but glad to say we now know two metres (for social distancing) is the length of Mildred the Crocklebog’s tail. Your day out also includes storytelling adventures, there are areas for building dens and crafting, and a live theatre stage.
Also apparent as you walk around are all the safety measures in place, because of the way we’re living now.. hand sanitizing stations at regular intervals, and signs reminding you to stay safe and keep your distance. Everything is in keeping with the quirky ‘wonky world’ style here, and many of the features have been made on site by the staff.
BeWILDerwood in Cheshire has been a long time in the planning, and sustainability is very important to the team there, which is where we come in. Steve from our Sales team has been working with them for two years to understand their waste requirements and came up with the perfect solution for phase one of the park’s opening. Gaskells has provided them with 40 general waste bins around the park, along with a number of FELs, which is working well. This will evolve over time, along with more exciting plans for the park, so we’ll be working with the team at BeWILDerwood to ensure the absolute best solution to fit in with their green ethos, or the Twiggles won’t be happy!
Gaskells are incredibly proud to be working with BeWILDerwood, it really is a magical place where you can run free, enjoy nature, and let your imagination run riot, whatever age you are. There’s so much to explore, as the woodland is vast, so comfy shoes and clothes are a must!
BeWILDerwood is in Cheshire, around an hour’s drive from Manchester or Liverpool and tickets cost from £17.50 for children. Pricing is based on height and tickets must be purchased online ahead of your visit.
