Gaskells are proud to announce we’re going to be working with and supporting Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation throughout 2019 by sponsoring their children’s Rugby Holiday camps.
The sessions are invaluable for children as they use sport to build confidence, to learn communication and life skills and interact with players and other clubs, all while having fun. We’ve committed funding for the Foundation which has enabled them to buy 100 rugby balls, and also T shirts for all the children taking part in the camps this year.
We’re incredibly proud to be sponsoring these camps and to be working with the Foundation as a whole as their work is invaluable to a number of communities in and around Warrington. They engage with many different groups, not just through rugby league, but with other sports, education, health, the arts, and also host a number of support groups which help people with mental health issues. Last year The Foundation held the World’s Largest Mental Health Lesson, with hundreds of people packed into the Halliwell Jones stadium to help raise awareness of an incredibly important issue. You might have also seen on the news Warrington Wolves Physical Disability Rugby League team winning the World Club Challenge in Australia, which is another fantastic achievement by the Charitable Foundation, who set the PDRL team up and raised all the funding for the trip down under.
Gaskells are delighted to now be a patron of Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, and are looking forward to visiting some of the camps and seeing what the rest of 2019 has to offer!
Shaun Briscoe from Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation says:
“To have Gaskells Waste come on board to sponsor our Rugby Camps is absolutely brilliant for us. We are a charity and totally reliant on the generosity of businesses and the general public to keep our work going, so this kind of funding is invaluable. Gaskells support has enabled us to provide new balls and T shirts for the camps so we’d like to say a big thank you.”
Denise Banks, Commercial Director at Gaskells says:
“Gaskells is committed to supporting charities and community groups across all areas we operate in, so we’re delighted to be working with The Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, which uses sport to give opportunities to many different groups across the area. We’ve seen some of the work the charity does for people of all ages, which really is inspiring, and in particular we’re big fans of the work they do with young people. This is why we’re glad to sponsor the children camps, which really helps to develop and encourage young minds, along with boosting their confidence.”
