Gaskells are proud to announce we’re working with the Echo Environment Awards 2018 in association with Merseyrail and Events NorthWest. The awards recognises the best environmental businesses, schools, community projects and individuals, and thank those who are making a difference. This year, Gaskells are delighted to be sponsoring the Sustainable Schools Award.

Sustainability means meeting the needs of everyone now, including protecting the environment which is essential for our survival, without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same. This is at the heart of everything we do here at Gaskells.

As a family run firm, we know the saying ‘the children are our future’ has never been more relevant than it is today. We also know education is key, so we’re delighted to be thanking schools who inspire young people to be more environmentally aware and support them to learn about the natural world around them. Gaskells already work with a number of schools, schools and are saving them money, encouraging more recycling, and helping reduce their carbon footprint. We’re able to do this because we’ve worked hard to achieve carbon neutral status, and have extremely high rates of recycling and re-use. Our Materials Recycling Facility  in Bootle was developed at an initial cost of £3 million, and is something we continue to invest in. The team at Gaskells are also expertly trained to give advice.

The Echo Environment Awards 2018 are being held at the stunning Isla Gladstone Conservatory on Thursday 26th April and will be hosted by the BBC’s Diane Oxberry.

We’re looking forward to meeting the green champions of our schools, and finding out how they, like Gaskells, are looking after our future. Good luck to everyone who’s entered.
