2017 has been a bumper year so far for Gaskells Waste, with our already strong presence across the northwest, and continued expansion into Mid Wales, Shropshire, North Wales & Anglesey, we are delighted to have been chosen, for the third year running, as the preferred waste provider for Carfest North.

The three day Children in Need event takes place annually at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire, and this year saw more than 100 thousand people pass through the gates. Once again, an amazing event, with some of the coolest and fastest cars from around the world there, family fun, camping, and among others, the Kaiser Chiefs performing.

Carfest North this year also staged the world’s biggest custard pie fight. So, a lot of people means a lot of waste, but Gaskells made sure the site was left as clean as before the event started.

We sorted, separated and recovered a whopping 120 tonnes of waste over the three days, with the help of onsite segregation. All the waste was then brought back to our state of the art Materials Recycling Facility in Liverpool for processing and further recovery of recyclable material.

Over the past five years, Carfest events have raised more than £7 million for BBC Children in Need, and Gaskells are proud to have played a part.

Commercial Director at Gaskells, Denise Banks said “Children in Need helps those who are going through things that no child should ever have to, so we, as a company, are only too happy to support such a worthwhile charity. Carfest North is an amazing fun event, but raises serious money, for a serious cause. We are happy to have been supporting this event for the past three years, and are looking forward to a long partnership.”
