This month we’re proud to have been a part of the Bolesworth International Horse Show for the fourth year on the run.
It’s one of the most prestigious events in the equestrian calendar, with crowds of 30,000 people passing through the gates of the stunning setting of Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire.
The event was truly spectacular, and saw five days of show jumping and dressage, with some of the world’s best equestrian athletes taking part, along with other entertainment, including motorcycle acrobatics, the ever popular dog show, fairground rides, inflatables, food and drinks, bands, and camping, so, practically everything you could shake a stick at.
Yet again this year, we had our specially made jump in one of the arenas, and provide all the bins across the site, as their preferred waste management provider.
As you can imagine, the site is huge, and that means a lot of bins. 300 x 240s, 80 x 1100s, and 60 x 660s to be precise. Each morning one of our crews carry out an early morning sweep across the site empty all the bins for the day ahead. This can be quite a delicate operation as at the back of the arenas, where the horse boxes and stables are, the horses sometimes get a but freaked out by the noise of the trucks and bins, so we have a tight timescale to get in and out. It’s thanks to our Transport Dept and our drivers and loaders these morning sweeps are carried out successfully and smoothly.
After the show’s over, and the clean-up done at Bolesworth, all the waste is then brought back to our Materials Recycling Facility at our head office in Liverpool to be processed.
Our Commercial Director Denise said “We’re extremely proud to have worked with Nina Barbour and the rest of the team at Bolesworth International Horse Show for another year. It’s one of the highlights of Cheshire’s summer social calendar, attracting thousands of visitors and competitors every year, so is fantastic to be involved with. The smooth running of our operation at Bolesworth is testament to our planning, and also the work put in by our transport department and drivers. We’re looking forward to working with Nina and the team on more events in the future.”
