We’re Racing. Kind Of.

Gaskells Waste Services is entering the Farndon Soapbox Derby 2025 on Sunday, 14th September.
Not in one of our usual trucks. In a custom-built soapbox. No engine. No brakes worth bragging about. But a lot of heart.
Built by our own team, the Gaskells soapbox is a rough-and-ready tribute to what we do every day—show up, do the job properly, and take pride in our work. It’s finely tuned like a waste management Formula One team. Sort of.
This isn’t just about having a laugh (though you’ll definitely get a chance to do that when we hit the hay bales). It’s about showing who we are:

  • A team that works hard
  • A business that supports local events
  • A company that knows how to take the job seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously

We’re also proud to support the event behind the scenes by providing the waste management service on the day. And it’s all for a good cause—proceeds from the derby go to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
This year, we’re swapping uniforms for overalls and bins for a soapbox on wheels. No giveaways. No info stand. Just us, hurtling downhill for fun and hopefully not for too long.

We think it’s going to be wheelie good. And if not, at least you’ll get a chance to laugh at us.
We take pride in what we do. That goes for waste management. And for racing bins downhill.

Sunday 14th September, 2025, car parks open at 10am with the first race at 11am with the main event taking place on Farndon Primary School playing fields in Cheshire.

See you in Farndon.
