Now we’re back into the swing of things, and we finally know what day it is after the Christmas and New Year break, we thought we’d have a little look back at our 2018 with a few of our favourite pictures from the year, and look forward to 2019!

For the growth of the business, it’s been a fantastic year with our presence getting ever stronger across all areas we cover, along with our expansion across North Wales. 2018 has seen us add to our fleet with vehicles equipped with all the latest safety technology and our drivers swap eight wheels for two, to get a cyclist’s eye view. We’ve achieved carbon neutral status and the coveted FORS Silver which recognises the safety and efficiency of our fleet.  We’ve added to our team and made some cross department changes and promotions due to us getting busier.

2018 has seen us unleash our special character bins to educate young people about recycling…General Waste and his troops first ventured out at Carfest, and have since been to a number of schools for special presentations.

We’ve helped raise thousands of pounds for our chosen charity The Whitechapel Centre, with a number of events, including the 2018 Gaskells Charity Truck Pull at Aintree, the annual sleepout in a churchyard in Liverpool and our version of Bake Off – which was a Pie-off, due to the large amount of pie fans at head office.

There was some very good news for our youngest binman Daniel Kinsella who was back out with us after being given the all clear from leukaemia, and we’ve even been out and about cleaning beaches up!

This is just a small snapshot of how Gaskells 2018 was – and we’d like to thank all our staff, customers, partners and suppliers for being part of it all. We’re looking forward to doing it all again, and more, in 2019.
