We’re proud to announce we’re now working with The Plassey Holiday Park, Retail Village and Golf Course in Wrexham, as our operation continues to expand across North Wales.
The Plassey is an exclusive award winning holiday park set in 250 acres of stunning park and woodland in the Dee Valley and has a fantastic history. It was originally a model dairy farm back in the Edwardian days, but has since been developed by the Brookshaw family into a luxury holiday park, with a retail village, restaurant and bar, and a nine hole golf course. Signs of its past are still visible in the Shippon Restaurant and Bar, which has been magnificently refurbished to make the most of the original features, including the cow’s troughs.
We’ve spent a day at The Plassey with our North Wales Business Development Manager Chris and Operations Director Adrian to see how the site works, have a look around, and to check our services. As it’s our policy to recruit in all areas we operate in, Chris is Wrexham born and bred, and for him signing The Plassey has been a bit of a trip down memory lane. This is where he started his sales career believe it or not, back when he was 15. There used to be a market on site where Chris worked on one of the stalls back as a lad, so this means he really has come full circle, and he’s incredibly proud to have signed them.
“This is one of the biggest and best camping and glamping sites in the UK, this puts us on the map and concretes even more our presence in Wrexham and North Wales and we’re delighted they’ve come on board.”
The Plassey itself has just seen major investment of over a million pounds, which has seen the launch of new glamping lodges, which are absolutely stunning. They sleep six, come with a private hot tub and are extremely eco-friendly. Each lodge has sustainable cedar cladding, ultra low energy under floor heating, and are also decorated with artwork of local wildlife. They really do take glamping to another level, which we’re told is “The Plassey way.”
Adrian Parry-Jones, Operations Manager at The Plassey
“We have three main sections of the business, the holiday park, the golf course and the retail village and have also just come to the end of a brand new project which has concluded with the launch of our brand new glamping pods. With this, we wanted to look at our waste issue, to make our recycling a ‘one-stop shop’, so spoke to the experts at Gaskells, and got Chris in. The key thing for us is to have one key location our guests can use and all our departments have their key areas too.”
We’re incredibly proud to be working with Adrian and the rest of the team at The Plassey for all their waste management services, and looking forward to a long and happy partnership.
